Bangalore Habba is here!

Bangalore Habba(Kannada for festival) started today. Its official site is here
The Habba is a cultural fest that I have been unfortunate to miss for the last couple of occasions. It generally showcases the rich culture and arts from in and around Bangalore – from folk to modern, contemporary art. Theatre, Dance, Fashion, Yakshagana, Music concernt – the works.

Its happening at a range of places across Bangalore – the Chitrakala Parishat to a Cafe Coffee Day outlet. The reviews I have read of it, when I wasnt in Bangalore were very laudatory – and I was sore that I had missed it! I’m hoping to catch on at least a couple of theatre or dance shows. If you’re around then, let’s catch-up there!

One thing I forgot to mention – the main sponsors this time are Bangalore Central(Pantaloon Group). Its great that a large retail group is sponsoring this. This makes a good business case for them to sponsor, as well as gives a good boost to the Habba.
